An organ transplant is an operation to move a whole or a partial organ from one human body to another. The organ may also be moved from a donor site on the patient's own body to another site in the patient's body. Transplantation is done to replace damaged or failing organ of the recipient with a working one from the donor. Organ donors can be living, or deceased.
